Livin’ in a 70s 80s music dream

In 2022 Australian singer/songwriter/entertainer Bradley McCaw walked into Capitol Studios (LA) with a mission... To make the perfect album.

Well not just any album... a 70s 80s inspired LA infused rock classic. With legendary session musicians and timeless melodies evoking Hall & Oates, Toto & Billy Joel. Call it soft rock.. smooth rock or Yacht Rock... there's very few artists making music like this today.

As the child of a single mother with four kids, Bradley was no stranger to defying the odds, getting his first job to pay for his own music lessons and explore his love of singing and music. With an abundance of creativity and no business acumen he set off in search of a career, and by 2023 had finally released his debut album Worried Minds (2023) featuring music legends Louie Shelton, Nathan East & James Morrison, building his own label "Old Fashioned Records" in the process.

Dubbed “Brisbane’s own Billy Joel” (Courier Mail), Bradley’s path was anything but ordinary. He first made his mark as a classically trained singer and actor, touring globally with the award-winning Ten Tenors and premiering original musical theatre productions (Becoming Bill, The Oasis, Any Moment). But behind the scenes, he was chasing a different dream—one that brought him back to the piano, the kind of melodies that make you roll the windows down, and a sound that feels both nostalgic and new.

Bradley honed his craft on stages around the world, selling out New York’s 42nd Street, headlining luxury cruise lines, and supporting Australian-Canadian music icon Wendy Matthews. But it was in the studio that he found his true calling. His 2023 debut album, Worried Minds (Old Fashioned Records), co-produced by legendary guitarist Louie Shelton (Lionel Richie, The Jacksons, John Lennon), captured the essence of classic '70s and '80s songwriting, with a fresh twist that resonated with today’s audiences. The album featured an all-star lineup, including Nathan East (Eric Clapton, Daft Punk) and jazz icon James Morrison, and was recorded at world-renowned studios like Capitol Studios (USA) and Studios 301 (AUS).

His breakout single Someone Like You (featuring Paulini) cracked the iTunes Top 10, earning national airplay and racking up over 3 million Facebook views. But it was I Want You Back that cemented his place in the Yacht Rock revival, landing on Spotify’s Yacht Rock Revival playlist—where it’s remained since its release.

As he prepares to release his second album, Last Stop Till California, Bradley McCaw is still evolving and searching. With his signature piano-driven storytelling and a voice that feels like an old friend, he’s leading the charge in a new era of timeless songwriting, breezy melodies, and that perfect mix of nostalgia and new energy. Bradley McCaw is an artist to watch.
