Do you know why I’m smiling ear to ear?

Why I can’t get this silly look off my face?

An artist only gets one debut album.

Today can never be repeated.

I’m about to share the final track listing, full cover art and my first line of products.

WHAT A DAY!

I’ll be honest. When I started recording I had no idea how to make a good album. Not the kind I’d dreamed off.

I still remember one of the first things I sent to Louie Shelton in an email. We’d been writing each other messages back and forth after I’d sent him some demos, a few songs I’d written inspired by my musical idols. In a nervous introduction email I’d wrote…”I’d like to make an album like you did in the 70s Louie. Can you teach me how that was done?”

Ultimately, I wanted to understand how these songs made us feel good. How the musicians shined so bright and these melodies become part of our lives.

From the very beginning this ethos framed every decision we made. Real strings, real backing vocals, real music. We gathered a band of wonderful Brisbane musicians and spent four days recording drums, bass and guitars on ten songs. Instantly there was a kind of magic. The band was on fire. The journey of my debut album had begun. All thanks to a silly question.

Let’s jump back to today now…

As I take you behind the scenes. And share how we actually recorded two more songs from my debut album!
