'BPM Artists Agency' created thanks to City of Moreton Bay
I am excited to announce my new music consultancy firm called “BPM Artists” created in partnership with ‘Lush Studios’ in Redcliffe (Australia).
Thanks for support from Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) I was able to undertake a week long creative development exploring how a new music hub might be created in the region to assist artists like myself with developing their careers.
I have been working at “Lush Studios” over the past few years and have found it to be world class!
After several discussions with other independent artists I was inspired to see how a space might be created to foster a community and passion for new music creation in the City of Moreton Bay, with my mentorship and Lush Studios at the centre.
Thanks to RADF I was able to take discussions and meetings with artists and producers. I sat down with folks like me and heard their stories and what they feel they are missing at various stages of their career.
All of the artists I spoke with had their own unique story and circumstance. They found themselves at a crossroads in an industry with limited opportunities to discuss challenges openly. They expressed the competitive nature of the ‘business’ side of the industry extremely limiting in building partnerships and community. Yes there are various frameworks for new artists but many of these are for artists with an established ‘brand’ ‘musical vision’ and ‘roadmap.’ What of the artists that are still ‘finding themselves?’ How do they create a vision and direction… How do they create the cashflow to create art?'
The result of these discussions and questions was the formation of “BPM ARTISTS” and a multiple step vision for a new music hub fosters new artists in the City of Moreton Bay. While all of these steps are not being disclosed here today - as it will take years to get such an endeavour off the ground - this first step is an exciting beginning.
Any artists wishing to take part can reach out to the program directly via management@bradleymccawofficial.com or visit our BPM ARTISTS social media and send us a hello!
Once again, can I please acknowledge and thank City of Moreton Bay Council and Regional Arts Development Fund for making this first step of the project possible.
Best,
Brad
