Here it is! The surprise Valentine’s Gift I’d been promising! My latest song: SO GLAD (Ballad Version).

This is the most vulnerable and intimate song I have released yet. Just piano and voice. Check it out for yourself below!

Released with the originally recorded full band track below it, the story of how this version came about is included in a previous blog post. Here it is again for those that missed it.

One night, a few weeks after completing recording my forthcoming album WORRIED MINDS (out later this year), I sat at an incredible grand piano in the gorgeous Studios 301 (Sydney, Australia) - pictured above.

I was about to record acoustic versions of songs from the album. All completely un-rehearsed and performed/recorded in ONE TAKE. Just using piano and voice.

I wanted these unique versions to be different to the full band versions and highlight the story or feeling in the story of the song. I wanted them to be simple and (forgive me here...) full of love!

So... This Wednesday we release the first song from this session, as a gift for Valentines Day!

While Valentine's can sometimes feel corny or commercial, it could also be a day to remind ourselves how fortunate we are to have people in our lives we love and care about.
