Vale, Andrew Oh
Vale, Andrew Oh
I've been listening to this song on repeat. Stunningly beautiful. Heartbreaking. From the first seconds of the song, the first line from his sax... you can hear Andrew's world class ability. His skill and passion. He is just there. In the music. So full of heart and joy. Playing like fire!
I don't usually post about iconic musicians passing away because I haven't known them personally and I have felt it's better left to those that knew them best. In this case, I wanted to share a short message from my heart.
You can read about the many incredible artists Andrew performed with below. Cher, Roberta Flack, Sammy Davis Jr, Bee Gees and The Drifters and more on tour.
Andrew played on many of the songs I've released thus far. If you've heard SO GLAD, I WANT YOU BACK... Every solo is him. He is a major part of why those songs are ANY GOOD!
I understand, in my own small way, the time and commitment it takes to play music like he did. The hours of playing in a room on your own. Always being curious. Searching. Exploring. What a gift he gave to us.
I'm sure his kindness is spread well beyond his music. For that, I send my heartfelt condolences to his family and close friends.
He stays with us, always.
Thankyou Andrew. Go well.
